Overview

The clients’ amphitheatrical site is set in a pine forest in the suburbs of Lefkosia. The main objective from the start was to create a low energy house, which sits harmoniously in the natural environment. The result is a combination of concrete, metal and timber structure, half buried in the mountain on its northern side and utilising high thermal insulation materials on every other surface. The interior layout and the high ceiling spaces support the natural cross ventilation during the summer periods. The green roof to the lower ground level proved to be both thermally and aesthetically the most suitable solution.
